Understanding Points and Miles Valuations
Not all points are created equal. A Chase Ultimate Rewards point transferred to Hyatt might yield 2+ cents per point, while redeeming through the Chase portal gives you only 1.25 cents. This calculator helps you determine the exact value you're getting from any redemption.
How Cents Per Point Works
Cents per point (CPP) measures the cash value you receive for each point redeemed. Divide the cash price of what you're booking by the number of points required, then multiply by 100. A higher CPP means better value for your points.
Average Values by Program
Transfer partner programs like Chase UR and Amex MR typically yield 1.2-2.0 cents per point when transferred to airline or hotel partners. Hotel programs like Hilton average around 0.5 cents per point, while airline programs range from 1.2 to 1.8 cents. This calculator compares your specific redemption against these benchmarks.
